Review: Canon Legria HF200 Camcorder

A great looking little HD camcorder that's comfortable to hold and operate. Build quality is superb as expected from Canon and all buttons feel like they're in the right place.

There's no internal storage with this camera so all footage is saved to a SD Card. The menu and navigation is simple enough once you know which buttons do what and the presets are very useful. It's not a touch screen and there isn't a seperate view finder so you may struggle with the screen in direct sun light.

It has a MIC in connection allowing you to connect an external microphone which is a great added bonus as the built-in MIC is not great (as is the case with most camcorders). It also has a AV Out/Headphone connection allowing the operator to use headphones whilst recording to check sound.

Other connections include HDMI, USB and Component Out and all leads are supplied accept for a HDMI lead. It also supports both tripod sizes.

A full battery lasts around 100-120 mins recording (and 150mins playback). Its charged/powered through a DC IN adapter so you can also operate it whilst plugged in to the mains.

It also comes complete with a wireless remote which is useful when on a tripod and also if you want to be in the film yourself.

Overall a great HD camcorder and the results are brilliant. A highly recommended camcorder. Rating: 5/5
